A Note from LPA 9 Twin Cities President

Hello!

Wow, where has the time gone?  My family just got back from a great road trip to South Dakota.  Lainey did fabulous traveling, especially considering she still has the full body cast and halo.  We will finally be getting all the hardware removed in August…it’s hard to believe she’s been in the contraption for a year!  Hopefully it will be a while (a LONG while) before she has to have any more spinal surgeries.

As far as chapter news goes, our chapter’s annual summer picnic is coming up on July 17.  This will be a special meeting as it is time once again to do elections for the chapter board.  If you have ever thought about running for a position, please contact me.  For those that haven’t heard, my family is in the process of trying to adopt a little girl with achondroplasia from India.  We hope to have her home late fall/early winter.  Given our upcoming change, I am hoping to step down as president (or at least share the duties) for the next term.

Plans are also underway for the fall district conference which will be in Bloomington.  There’s lots of opportunity for you to get involved!
